1. Tumamoc Hill
Tumamoc Hill is a fan favorite in town. It's a gently sloped paved road that's up a hill and is 3 miles round trip and over 700 feet from top to bottom. Besides the amazing exercise you'll get, Tumamoc is filled with rich history that dates back thousands of years. And although it can be a little steep in some areas, the view from the very top is the ultimate reward.

2. Seven Falls at Sabino Canyon
Seven Falls is one of the most popular hikes in Tucson. It is located within Sabino Canyon recreation area at the base of the Santa Catalina mountains. The distance of the hike is 8.2 miles, so pack a lot of water. The trail is surrounded by beautiful desert scenery and soaring saguaros. Because the falls are within the canyon, you won't see them until you're minutes away from them. There you'll get the chance to swim, sunbathe, picnic, and maybe even cliff jump.
3. Sutherland Trail
Located in the Catalina State Park, the Sutherland Trail takes you up to an elevation of 8,600 feet through the mountains. The hike is 10.8 miles and is not for the faint of heart. But you are still able to enjoy beautiful scenery if you choose not to complete the full hike.
4. Romero Pools
Also located within the Catalina State Park, this 5.6 mile hike is a beautiful addition to your list. The trail starts off very steep and rocky, but evens out towards the top and down to the pools. The pools vary in water levels depending on the seasons, but during the hot summer day, make sure to pack your swimsuit for a swim.
5. Tanque Verde Falls Trail
This two mile hike is located off of Redington Road in the lower Tanque Verde Falls Trailhead. It's a shorter hike, but one of the most beautiful in town and features water tumbling, 80 feet over a rock wall. The water flowing over the falls depends on the seasons and recent rain we've had.Â
