Pro #2: Fun Activities
The amazing thing about living near or around downtown Tucson is you can easily jump on the streetcar and experience fun activities throughout the area. From historical museums to the children's museum, there's family friendly options galore. Or if you're up for some bar hopping, you won't be disappointed by all of the exciting options. There are nightclubs, cocktail lounges, brewing companies, and even an arcade bar.
Pro #3: Historical Neighborhoods
When living in downtown Tucson or the surrounding areas, you're living in the heart of the city. Majority of the neighborhoods are historical neighborhoods that date back to the late 1800s. You're surrounded by beautiful architect and historical parks. You won't find any other houses like this within Tucson.
Con #1: Parking
The parking in downtown Tucson consists of street parking or garage parking. Majority of it is not free unless you're willing to walk some distance or the weekends. But the plus is you can jump on the streetcar that will get you to your destination in a short commute.
Con #2: Lack of Newer Construction Homes
Downtown Tucson is one of the older communities within Tucson. Some of the homes date back to the late 1800s. You're less likely to find a newer construction home within the area. Although there might be some here or there, they're harder to come by. The plus is there's a great skyrise condominium that had been beautifully added to downtown Tucson. So if you're looking for more minimalistic living situation, that could be a great option for you.
Con #3: Hot Summer Heat
Downtown Tucson summers, and along with the greater Tucson area, can get well into the 110s during the hottest summer months. Luckily that's only a month or so out of the year. The rest of the time it's beautiful sunshine weather and nice and chilly winters. These hot summer months can never outweigh the beautiful months we have throughout the rest of the year.
These were just a few of the pros and cons about living in downtown Tucson. I hope this is helpful. If you have any questions about downtown or Tucson in general, I invite you to call, email or text me.
