Pro #2: Award-Winning Public School District
Vail is within an award-winning public school district. The Vail School District is known for innovation and high standards. Along with its traditional schools, Vail offers a blended learning center, Vail Digital Learning, and an early college program.
Pro #3: Outdoor Activities
Vail has a wide variety of outdoor activities within the area. It's home to Colossal Cave Mountain Park, which is a large cave system that contains about 3.5 miles of mapped passageways. It's a fun adventure for anyone trying to escape the heat. If you enjoy golf, Del Lago Golf Club is a fun challenge for any type of golfer. Or maybe you're up for some sightseeing on horseback. All Around Trail Horses provides fun excursions for any age group.
Con #1: Restaurant Scene
If you're a restaurant foodie, Vail does lack in that department. You won't find a variety of sit-down restaurants within the nearby area. You'll find more of the fast food chain restaurants. But luckily you have quick access to the I-10 and can drive to your nearest favorite restaurant in about 15 to 30 minutes.
Con #2: Lack of Big Box Stores
Now, if you're like me and like to frequent Target or Trader Joe's, sometimes a couple times a week, you're not going to find them within the Vail area. The closest Target and Costco is about 20 to 30 minutes away, but Vail is home to one of the best and nicest Fry's Food and Drug stores in Southern Arizona.
Con #3: Summer Heat
Vail summers, and along with the greater Tucson area, can get up to 115 degrees during the hottest months. Luckily that's only a month or so out of the year. The rest of the time it's beautiful sunshine weather and nice and chilly winters. These hot months can never outweigh the beautiful months we have throughout the rest of the year.
These were just a few of the pros and cons about Vail, Arizona. I hope this was helpful. If you have any questions about Vail or Tucson, I invite you to call, email or text me!
