Today I put together some general information about all of the public school districts in Tucson. If you're interested in more information about each school district, I advise you to look into each district, either on niche.com or the individual school districts website, let's start it off on the southeast side of Tucson.
Vail School District
The Vail School District is located in Vail, Arizona, and was founded in 1903. It has a total of 10 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 4 high schools. They're around 13,500 students in the entire school district.Â
Sahuarita Unified School District
The Sahuarita Unified School District is located near Sahuarita Arizona and it was founded in 1896. It has a total of 4 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 2 high schools. There are around 6,500 students in the entire school district.

Sunnyside Unified School District
Now moving more central south, we have the Sunnyside School District and it was founded in 1921. It has a total of 12 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 4 high schools, with one of them being an online school option. And there are around 16,200 students in the entire school district.
Tucson Unified School District
Moving into the biggest school district in Tucson, we have the Tucson Unified School District, which was founded in 1867. It has a total of 63 elementary schools, 28 middle schools, and 15 high schools. Keep in mind, a few of the elementary and middle schools are a combined K-8 school. There are around 45,600 students in the entire school district.
Flowing Wells School District
The Flowing Wells School District is also a more central school district in the Tucson area and it was founded in 1889. There are 6 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 3 high schools. There are around 5,600 students in the entire school district.
Amphitheater Unified School District
The Amphitheater School District is another one of the bigger school districts, which was founded in 1893. With 15 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 3 high schools, there around 13,700 students in the entire school district.
Marana Unified School District
The Marana Unified School District is located towards the northwest end of Tucson and was recognized as a school district in 1981. There are 12 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 2 high schools. There are also around 12,300 students in this school district.
Catalina Foothills Unified School District
The Catalina Foothills School District is located towards the northern part of Tucson and it was founded in 1931. There are 4 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 1 high school. There are around 5,500 students in the entire school district.Â
Tanque Verde Unified School District
The Tanque Verde School District is towards the extended northeast, east side of Tucson and was established in 1885. There are 2 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. And there are around 2,100 students in this school district.Â
